After many hours painting, adding details and thinking, it’s finished. A room with a view on Paris!
November 2023 - Starting a “mega” project
I have started my biggest project ever; 100 x 140 centimeter. It will be an open window with a view on Paris. It is interesting for me to find out how to handle this canvas volume and which kind of painting techniques are working
October 2023 - 3D Light series
Worked over the last year on different paintings with a different kind of light. I created some kind of a 3D effect by using a thicker canvas.
October 2023 - New painting!
For the first time I have painted direct on wood. I bought an old painting with a frame at a flea market. It’s an old and torn wallpaper behind a colorful finch.
September 2023 - Exhibition Gedachteniskerk Oud-Beijerland
Exhibition with 6 different still lifes for 3 months. It was a really nice experience to show my work to a wider audience. I received a lot of positive feedback and compliments ;-)
August 2022 - TV program De Nieuwe Vermeer
To celebrate the “year of Vermeer”; Dutch TV producer Omroep Max started a competition for artists to create 1 of the 6 lost Vermeer paintings. I choose “het tweede straatje” whereby I created a typical Vermeer painting with recognizable elements like the church in Delft, the Voldersgracht (where Vermeer was born) and characters like the milk maid etc. However, I made to the workshop, the final was a bit too far away. Nice experience again!
